This brooch features a hand painted cast resin frame with an image of a photographic portrait from the collection compiled by W. E. B. Du Bois for the 1900 Paris Exhibition. The image has also been glazed with clear resin for a glassy finish.
The frame measures approximately 1.5 inches wide and 2 inches tall, with a brooch back that includes a bail (so that the brooch can also be worn as a pendant, if desired).
For images where the sitter's name is unknown to me, I've provided them with a nickname. Please feel free to pretend this fancy individual is one of your ancestors.
